A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the very same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a website hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a few features, but it’s amazingly user-friendly, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires only a single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be shown in this section alphabetically and you will just have to click the "Catch-all" button for the respective address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and takes one more click on the same button.
